Why are Indian MCs never allowed to be truly "Ruthless"? Discussing the "Temporal Glitch" trope in New Delhi 2084.
I was recently thinking about why we don't have a "Solo Leveling" equivalent set in India. Specifically, a story that deals with the "System" trope but through a darker lens—like a Temporal Glitch in New Delhi 2084.
Imagine a character like Aarav Kan, who faces 17 years of systemic rejection. In this theory, he wouldn't be a hero; he’d be the world's biggest bug. I’ve actually spent some time during my JEE breaks visualizing what a 14-minute pilot of this would look like, focusing purely on that "Ruthless" energy.
The Discussion Points:
- Geography vs. Power: Would a "Status Window" actually work in the chaos of a futuristic Delhi, or is the setting too grounded for high-fantasy tropes?
- Character Ethics: Can an Indian audience actually root for a protagonist who wants to make the world pay for his rejection, or is the "Moral Hero" too deeply rooted in our culture?
I've titled this conceptual project "After 17 Years of Rejection, The "Glitch" Boy Woke Up — And The World Paid The Price EP-1" to explore these themes. If you're interested in the visual execution of this 14-minute "Glitch Boy" idea, you can find it by looking up this pilot online.
I'm really curious to hear from other Indian fans: are we ready for "Anti-Hero" protagonists, or should we stick to the classic hero's journey? 🙏
