£50 until the 22nd can repay £75
Today is actually one of the good days. I’m currently sat on Brighton beach on a lovely (albeit windy) sunny day, I’ve got a hold-all, a lidl bag for life and a nice warm coat.. basically all I could carry.
I finally found the courage to leave my childhood home for good. I sadly had to return to that place after losing my job and found myself unable to afford rent and essentials. I swear that place is cursed, it’s home to multiple active hard drug users and all the stress, drama, violence and general toxicity that comes with it…
i’m currently homeless until the 22nd when I get my universal credit payment (I wish I was savvy to the benefits system prior to losing my job) which is when I will be able to afford the upfront rent and deposit on the very first viable place I can find. I have been in and out of hostels, sofa surfing and relying on just about any kind soul I can to get by. luckily I have yet to sleep rough but it is seeming inevitable. the councils have been useless, this discretionary housing payment they tout is seemingly unaccessible to anyone… a 4 week waiting listing on a homelessness referral. the system is a mess.
essentially any help whatsoever would be a godsend, as for financial help, I could repay on the 22nd. I wouldn’t be asking for much as I’ve got rent to pay on that date. Thanks for reading
