Just trying to gauge how long / painful the recovery will be. I’m having surgery end of May and it just seems like rib removal would be super painful?
Is that the case? What’s it like in the first few days following surgery? Month…?

I have confirmed nTOS and will having surgery in a few weeks. Prior to approval, I did a scalene block and noticed that this annoying pressure I get behind my eyes/forehead whenever my neck is at even a slight angle was basically completely gone. I legitimately cannot think straight when it’s happening.
My only concern is that I really don’t see head pressure commonly cited online. Has anyone else dealt with this?Essentially, I get the pressure in a bunch of different positions, including:
- laying flat with even a super small pillow
- seated and hunched forward
- turning my head to the right
- leaning on my elbow to one side
The only thing that alleviates it completely is if I stand up straight. I’m just hoping that surgery helps with this cuz it’s honestly my most annoying symtopm compared to the shoulder and arm pain.
Any ideas as to how TOS could be the root cause of this would be greatly appreciated as well.
