Releasing 2,000 free practice problems for FRM exams, seeking feedback

Hi everyone, I recently had someone request that I add the FRM exams to FreeFellow, and so I've got a question bank with over 2,000 questions across both parts that can help you prepare at zero cost. Most prep providers force you to pay for a package to even study, but my ethos is to give what's needed to pass for free, and only charge optionally for premium features like flashcards or analytics.

Would love if people could take a look and see if this is serving its purpose. FYI I have over 30,000 practice problems across 30 difference exams in finance, and have personally passed 13 of them myself, some using only my own website. My goal is to take the best study practices and put it into a platform that is extremely affordable. FreeFellow is a CFA Institute Prep Provider and currently used by over 2,000 students.

All questions are completely free to access, and there are also condensed topic outlines and formula sheets for free, too.

Happy to answer any question or comments.

Hi everyone, I see a lot of finance and finance-adjacent student organizations and I'd like to connect with some since I've developed textbooks specifically to study for exams like CFA/CAIA/FRM/Series/CPA/etc. and would love to just hand it out so students can study for free. I'm not trying to sell the textbooks just literally to give away digital copies in case it would be useful.

About me: I live in the neighborhood and work in M&A / have a background in PE. I have the CFA charter and am a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and would love to connect with the future leaders in my industry. I do talks often and would love to be a guest speaker if there's a good fit.

Anyways, would love to experiment and see if this post will help me network with my neighbors!

Releasing 1,500 free practice problems for EA exams, seeking feedback

Hi everyone, I recently had someone request that I add the EA exams to FreeFellow, and so I've got a question bank with over 1,500 questions across the 3 parts that can help you prepare at zero cost. Most prep providers force you to pay for a package to even study, but my ethos is to give what's needed to pass for free, and only charge optionally for premium features like flashcards or analytics.

Would love if people could take a look and see if this is serving its purpose. All questions are completely free to access, and this weekend I will also be releasing a condensed topic outline and formula sheet I've been working with others on (also for free!)

Happy to answer any question or comments.

I saw that Becker charges several thousand dollars for their materials and that doesn't include the exam registration fee. Is it normal for firms to pay this for all of their candidates or is there a limit to the budget? Just seems like Becker can overcharge and get away with it if they have a monopoly on the CPA market.

Hi everyone, I built FreeFellow, which I and many others used to pass the CFP exams and there was a request to put EA materials on the website as well.

I put over a thousand practice problems across the 3 parts that anyone can access and study for free, and I'm working with others to develop lessons and flashcards as well.

About me: I created this site when studying for the CFP because my company wouldn't pay for materials. I used it to pass that exam and then decided to extend it to other exams and share it with others. I have my CFA Charter and am also a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. I've personally passed 13 of the exams on the website on my first attempt and incorporated the world's best study techniques into how the platform schedules practice and review.

Please let me know if you have any comments, criticism, or questions! What I want most from this community is feedback.

Happy studying, FreeFellow.org

Hi everyone, I built FreeFellow, a CFA Institute Prep Provider, and the 2027 curriculum opens this month so I wanted to share it here.

Today you can access over 26,000 practice problems across 30 finance exams at no cost, with full lessons covering every LOS. Premium adds original mock exams, flashcards, AI essay grading for L3 constructed responses, and analytics, at less than $20/mo which is a fraction of what Schweser and others charge.

About me: I created this site when studying for the CFP because my company wouldn't pay for materials. I used it to pass that exam and then decided to extend it to other exams and share it with others. I have my CFA Charter and am also a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. I've used Kaplan, MM, Bill, etc. and passed all 13 of these exams on my first attempt and incorporated the world's best study techniques into how the platform schedules practice and review.

The free tier will stay free. Premium revenue covers my costs and ongoing content creation.

Please let me know if you have any comments, criticism, or questions! What I want most from this community is feedback.

Happy studying, FreeFellow.org

Hi everyone, I run an exam prep platform called FreeFellow.org and the premise is that you should be able to study for your fellowship for free.

I'm looking for entrepreneurial people who can help me break into the actuarial markets. This scope is broadly defined but primarily includes providing continuous feedback on content and having a mastery of associate-level exams. Actuarial is too small for me to prioritize so I am offering the opportunity to 1-2 individuals per track.

Why work with me?

  • I already know how to make good study materials. I passed all actuarial, CFA, and CFP exams on my first attempt, which if you stack the pass rates is less than 1:10000 odds so I know what it takes to pass. We will ship top tier product.
  • I've already established presence in several larger markets. For example, FreeFellow is now a CFA Institute Prep Provider for the 2027 curriculum. I also have partnerships with various universities for the CFP program where professors have been administering my mock exams to students.
  • l have paying customers in multiple markets and 100+ registrations per week, increasing exponentially.
    • Note: the premise is that you should be able to study for free, and that is true. I want to also offer premium features at such a low price point that it is obvious someone should upgrade. A typical prep provider gives you nothing for free and charges $600+ to access content. My platform offers 70% free (enough to study) and charges $59 (yes, dropped a zero) for the meaningful premium 30%. See the difference?
  • I plan to share >50% of the revenue from SOA and CAS exam tracks to contributors. Pretty much no one will ever offer up this much. When I first started writing, someone from ACTEX graciously offered me the opportunity to write for them... as a volunteer. I will make your time worthwhile because I care much more about impact than money and I want you to have real skin in the game.
  • You would be helping make studying for actuarial exams much more accessible and reduce the financial barrier, so that the process can be ever so slightly more meritocratic which we all agree needs to continue to be upheld.
  • This can go on a resume.

What you need

  • You do need a strong understanding of exam materials and what makes a question good vs. bad. This is most easily demonstrated by having a strong score/pass history
  • You do need good taste for what a good prep product feels like
  • You do need to have a bias towards execution
  • You do not need strong technical skills
  • You do not need to be in the spotlight if you don't want to be

Express interest: DM me here or LinkedIn
