This update is a small but important step forward in improving how players stay connected with the game.

What’s New:
The main menu has been updated to include Itch.io integration.

You will now see updates directly within the menu, allowing you to stay up to date with:

-The latest version of the game
-News and announcements
-Development progress

There are no gameplay changes or new features in this version—this update is focused entirely on improving communication and keeping everything easily accessible in one place.

Built for the Ring – Beta Now Live

I’m excited to shadow drop the beta for Built for the Ring. Before anything else, I want to clearly explain what this version is and is not so expectations are set properly.

By getting the game in its current state, you are actively helping with beta testing. In-game, there is a button in the bottom-left corner. If you run into any issues while playing, you can use that button to send feedback or report bugs directly to me.

What’s included right now

This beta is mainly focused on Match Mode and most of the Create Mode systems.

The following features have been tested and are playable, but please expect bugs and glitches (I’m currently the only tester):

-Singles matches in Match Mode 

-Uploading and downloading databases 

-Basic onboarding + planner tools 

-Core creation tools for: 

—Wrestlers / workers 

—Moves 

—Arenas / Shows

—Match setups & rules 

—Companies 

—Locations 

There is more in the build beyond this core, but anything outside of it should be considered experimental and still being tuned.

What’s still experimental / in progress

-Larger team matches (including 2v2 tag) — playable, but lightly tested 

-Match objectives + objective creation tools — available but not fully functional yet 

-Crowd reactions 

-Crowd & match rating systems — still being refined (scores may not make sense yet) 

-General polish (pacing, readability, presentation) 

What’s coming next

This is just the beginning. Planned updates include:

-A much larger default database. Right now the game only includes a small fictional promotion based around a truck stop in New Jersey. More workers, companies, and content will be added over time, including matches, weapons, arenas, etc. for this database. (of course I am excited to see what you all make for these things!)

-More polished and intuitive creation tools 

-More Polish (it’s so important I’m saying it twice)

-Feedback will directly shape improvements 

-A story mode + story creation tools where you can create your own scenarios or replay real-world style events. More details about this coming soon. 

-Expanded match systems and deeper match logic (a lot will be based off your feedback.

-Improved crowd and rating systems 

-Overall improvements to Match Mode depth and presentation 

Important note about current content

The default database is intentionally very limited right now. It’s meant as a starter set, not a full wrestling universe. At the moment, it’s a small fictional promotion with a truck-stop theme. Also to be clear, for this game, you don’t need massive databases. You can have a database based around one promotion and it will work perfectly!
