Hello everyone!

I’ve exclusively played only doubles since I’ve begun playing competitive Pokémon in SV, but with the release of Champions I want to give singles a try.

So what I’d like to know is how exactly does team building a singles team work in comparison to making a doubles team? Do you still have multiple “cores” that you build around like a Ursaluna + Indeedee core? I’ve heard hazards are way more valuable in singles, but does that still apply to a 3v3 format compared to the standard 6v6?

I’d appreciate any and all advice please!

So, I was curious about what a non-Pokémon fan would think about every Mega Evolution and decided to make my friend rate them. They only know Pokémon based off what I’ve rambled about it in the past and nothing else. I asked them to rate each Pokémon before and after mega evolving. Lore, design, and animations were all taken into account when rating them. We didn’t get to do the Megas in the Legends ZA DLC but will do them another day.

Best reactions:

Emboar - I like the beard and silhouette of him, plus he has strong eyebrows like me!

Mega Emboar - WE’RE DOING SHOTS AFTER BATTLE.

Feralgatr - He looks like a devolved Leatherhead from TMNT, he would not survive in the sewers.

Mega Feralgatr - Reminds me of those triceratopses with the big crests.

Gyarados - HE EVOLVES FROM MAGIKARP?! (Knows Magikarp from Pokopia) He went on a journey and became the evolution I was looking for.

Mega Gyardos - This is a dragon from HTTYD for sure.

Starmie - Looks like an accessory, like a brooch or pin.

Mega Starmie - HE CAN WALK?! He should’ve evolved into a crab, all things evolve into crustaceans.

Scolipede - Looks like a deformed alpaca, I like it.

Mega Scolipede - HES SO MAJESTIC NOW.

Gardevior - SHE HAS SUCH A SICK BOB CUT.

Mega Gardevior - Her dress is so elegant, but the bob cut pulls it all together.

Houndoom - Edgy dooberman.

Mega Houndoom - Edgier dooberman that painted his nails.

Altaria - My bird bias is conflicting with how dumb it looks…

Mega Altaria - I actually like her a lot more now because the body isn’t just a cloud. It actually has a body to it now compared to before which was just an amorphous blob.

Lopunny - She looks like she knows how to take care of herself.

Mega Lopunny - SHES JUST LIKE ME FR.

Banette - Oh naw, she got issues like that bear from Toy Story 3.

Mega Banette - You look so cool, but I don’t want to deal with all that.

Sableye - Rarity (from MLP) would have this as a Pokémon.

Mega Sableye - Rarity has this when Discord shows up in the season 2 finale.

Absol - She works in disaster preparation and management as a manager or supervisor.

Mega Absol - SHES THE DIRECTOR NOW!

Slowbro - I don’t like the parasitic relationship he has with the shellder.

Mega Slowbro - HES BEING CONSUMED BY THE SHELLDER SOMEBODY HELP HIM PLEASE!

Venasaur - Toad and a cat mixed together??? I like that.

Mega Venasaur - We’re winning the battle and getting Margaritas afterwards.

Malamar - Reminds me of Cedric from Sophia the First

Mega Malamar - He looks FABULOUSLY EVIL!

Pinsir - I don’t like this guy. Take him off the screen please. :(

Mega Pinsir - He looks crazy, but I like that.

Hawlucha - That’s compa right there.

Mega Hawlucha - WE’RE GOING TO BE UNBEATABLE IN THE RING!!!

Aerodactyl - He needs to sue the genetic lab that made him.

Mega Aerodactyl- Better, but still goofy. Get him a cosmetologist please.

Steelix - Reminds me of the Silent Death from HTTYD Riders of Burke.

Mega Steelix - MAJESTIC AF.

Greninja - NOW HE WOULD SURVIVE IN THE SEWERS. Definitely friends with the Ninja Turtles.

Mega Greninja - HE’S SO FUCKING COOL!!!

Falinks - Awww a little guy.

Mega Falinks - He’s so fucking cute omg I want these guys around they can help me too I’m getting cuteness aggression I just wanna pop them in my mouth.
