Hello!
So, I am a kind of a unique case (as far as I can tell) because my doctor had me take my test at 15-16 weeks due to PCOS and weight. I was diagnosed with GDM about two weeks ago, and I’ll be 19 weeks on Friday.

So far, I’ve been eating fairly well. I track all my food and all my after-meals numbers have been within range (fasting is usually a few clicks over where it should be but I’ll be discussing that with my dietician this Thursday). I have some good snacks in case I want something sweet, like dark chocolate or sugar free jello.

Here’s my issue though.. I ADORE refined carbs. Before pregnancy I would absolutely be the type to just buy a loaf of French bread and eat half of it in one go with some butter, or get biscuits and gravy when we went out to the local diner. I am really afraid I’ll totally fall off the wagon trying to avoid everything I enjoy. I just want some cornbread or something!

Is there anything you guys do to curb those cravings? Any recipes or products that scratch the carb itch without spiking your number through the roof? I have some low carb tortillas and whole wheat bread, but they’re just not doing it for me. I’d kill for a biscuit right now! I have so much longer to go than the average person as far as I can tell, so I really would like to get a handle on this quick!

Thank you!
