Screw it. What are your personal fixes that you'd be ashamed to show your coworkers?
My deep freeze thermostat broke and there were no immediate replacements due to the age of the freezer. And I had just filled it with meat. So I did what any sane man would do and jerry rigged the compressor to a timer until I could get a thermostat. It comes on and off every 15 minutes and keeps the freezer around -5 to +5 degrees F and I added a light so I could tell when the compressor was running. It's been 6 months and I have yet to order the thermostat.
