DIY CDMA2000 confirmed!!

DIY CDMA2000 confirmed!!

That's right! Just a few minutes ago, we got CDMA2000 working on the LibreSDR board!!! We were able to get it working using the very recently released (just a day ago) 1xBTS software available here: https://github.com/chrismoos/1xbts

There is a slight hiccup in installation where you need to update one of the dependencies manually, but other than that, it's working CDMA2000 for the very first time! You can see 1x in action, picture courtesy of /u/XL_Gaming

Get started!

If you're here, chances are you want to set up your own cellular network for whatever reason that might be. At the moment, we are focused on getting 2G GSM to its theoretical maximum, adding in GPRS and EDGE capabilities. If all this sounds interesting, check out fellow moderator u/ExtremelyLazyCat's video (linked) on getting the Osmocom stack running on a cheap SDR from eBay (URAN1). This video helps you get the basic GSM stack set up so that your phones can see your network and call and text each other. However, this is just the start as with other configs and tying in the Osmocom stack with Asterisk makes the possibilities limitless. Have fun!
