The 6204 was the first watch from Rolex to wear the Submariner logo, and set the template for everything that came after. I hope to acquire a replica of this grail watch one day!

This beautiful watch - released in 1904 - is the first purpose-built men's wristwatch to go on sale. It was developed so Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont could tell the time without using a pocket watch while controlling his aircraft. Prior to this watch, the only wristwatches available were all designed for women, so this is a significant watch.
