Why has ABBA become the soundtrack to so many Royal Family clips?

I have been getting recommended tonnes of TikToks, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts featuring footage of the Royal Family. So many of them use various (sometimes slowed-down) ABBA songs as their audio. I am wondering whether I am missing something as to the reason!

Is it purely because they are thought of as dramatic songs for important narrative moments? Was ABBA used in The Crown? I am aware of the story of Queen Elizabeth II listening to ‘Dancing Queen’, but the clips do not usually use that song, instead favouring ‘Lay All Your Love On Me’, ‘Voulez-Vouz’, and others.

I look forward to people’s insights!
