So I have been thinking for a long time to setup a simple NAS setup to begin with that I can implement on my Raspberry Pi 5. I am looking for minimal investment and only opensource solutions to achieve this. The only investment i can afford is in hardware.

I heard about openmediavault but realised it is not an end to end solution. Therefore, I am looking for suggestions on a roadmap on how to build this. My requirement - basic file upload/download from any network onto my storage device, accessible to all my family members and of course, some user management on these files. A good UI and support for all media filetypes is appreciated.

It would be helpful if you can share some resources or an already existing thread where someone raised a similar request. Thanks !

I am a 2025 graduate currently working as a Digital Engineer in a semiconductor company. I graduated with 8.58/10 GPA with majors in Electrical Engineering, top 5 in my branch. I wish to apply for masters in ETH Zurich for Fall applications this year so I can start in 2027. My interest lies in Computer Architecture, VLSI, Sensor Networks in Electronics Domain and Computer Networks in CS domain.

Which masters courses are relevant to my interest and what are my chances of getting in? I am a Non-EU citizen.

Also, which labs at ETH would be best for me to opt for considering that I am interested in working on Research topics in collaboration with the industry.

Hi. I recently bought an Alesis Nitro Max drum kit to start learning drums. I am an amateur. I have got some basics figured out and am able to play easy songs. However, I want to record what I play and for that, I am trying to figure out a setup.

Can anyone give me a brief idea of what softwares to use and the required plugins for recording ? Also any resources or platforms that can guide me through the setup.

P.S. I have a windows laptop.
