So I have several ppp with varying genetics, many are quite beautiful and I am fairly certain they came from tissue cultures. The plant in these photos came from a private collector via marketplace and it just seems different somehow. Even lower-variegation leaves look spectacular and multi-faceted. I see a lot of deep reds in addition to the pinks and greens (I see reds on my other ppp but nowhere near as much), and when light shines on the leaves I can see so many patterns and speckles and layers of colour it looks like a galaxy.
I recently stumbled upon the term “legacy” in regards to pink princesses and did a bit of research. Apparently legacy plants are propagations whose lineage goes back to the original ppp, and they tend to be a bit bigger and healthier with more stable variegation. I can’t find many sources that actually go into much detail though, so I’m wondering if this is actually a real thing or is it another one of those plant scams? And if it is real is there any way to tell if you have one? There are no stakes here, I’m just curious and think it’s cool. Thanks for reading!
