Muscle Gain with Weight Loss

Hey guys so I have a bit off an odd experience going on with my weight loss rn. So I am 21 and I started this weight loss journey a month ago, I was 270lbs I am now averaging closer to 262lbs which I’m happy with yes! But I have been taking progress pics weekly to help as well. My routine has been eating in a deficit but also 45min strength training and 45mins walks, which the walks and stuff haven’t been happening as much this week as its finals week for me and my life has been crazy but I plan to get back on that come Monday. But anyways I have found that I feel skinner my skin looks tighter and all that stuff but the scale to me hasn’t really moved, I mean I know it has and 8lbs is nothing to sneeze at but like idk it’s weird cause I guess I would of expected more weight lost? Or like I don’t understand why I’m seeing such a physical difference but not as much one on the scale. Has anyone else gone through this?? Cause it’s just messing with my mind a little lol

Hey, so im struggling with the idea of the number on the scale. What I mean by this is I have been in a pretty solid routine for almost 3 weeks (routine will be at the end) and I’m starting to see the difference I can feel more muscle and my chest and skin feels a little tighter. My shirt and jeans all feel a little bit more lose and even my face looks slimmer. But like I’m sure a lot of people here will relate too I grew up overweight and I associate the number on the scale with success because of this. I try to not weigh myself more than once a week, but I’ve been hovering around 265lbs this past week and a half and it just worries me that even tho I’m seeing these physical differences I won’t actually lose the weight. What have been your experiences with weight loss through strength training and is this normal??

Context:

I’m a 21 year old, Male 6’3” and 265lbs (started at 270lbs)

Workout routine

45min strength training daily

45min walk daily - steps have been 6-10k most days

Calorie intake ranges from 1,300-1,650 depending on the day but I normally average the middle of the range
