Hi all, I’m moving to Chicago in a month and am looking for help unloading my car into my apartment. I’ll have an SUV-full of big plastic totes, some large canvas zippered bags, some suitcases, and a few smaller bags. So not much at all. My apartment is up two flights of stairs with no elevator, and a lot of my suitcases and bins will likely be 50-80 pounds so I’m not able to carry them all myself.
Any recommendations for movers that might charge only for an hour and don’t have extra stairs/travel fees? I’ve looked into some more well-known companies but they’ve quoted me $400-800, and I’m hoping to find someone for maximum $250. It honestly shouldn’t take more than half an hour if I can get two people to help me who might have dolleys. Otherwise I have some friends who could help but I don’t want to inconvenience them with really heavy stuff.
