Hey everyone,
I’m a petroleum engineering graduate, but due to my nationality and visa limitations, I haven’t been able to land a role in my field.
Right now, I’m working in sales. I’ve gained some useful skills (communication, negotiation, dealing with clients), but honestly, I don’t enjoy it and don’t see myself doing this long-term.
I feel stuck because:
I can’t easily enter petroleum engineering
I don’t like sales
I still want a stable career with growth
I’m open to switching fields, but I’m not sure what direction makes sense given my background.
Has anyone been in a similar situation or made a switch from engineering → something else?
What roles would you recommend that:
Still value analytical/technical thinking
Have good long-term growth
Any advice, real experiences, or suggestions would really help.
