I'm trying to figure out if this idea is worth pursuing or not.
The core concept is rebuilding a wall that invaders are trying break through with the key idea that each brick is individually made, placed and broken. I think it would make a really good tension of whether you can rebuild fast enough to hold them out while also having enough damage to kill off the attackers.
It would be a bit of a genre mashup with some automation aspects to mine and supply the stone blocks. But of course would still have towers and upgrades. And it would have a main player character who is that Dwarf with an upgradeable magical wheelbarrow which can be used to repair walls or run over goblins.
Theme wise, you're a bunch of Dwarves defending the local tavern from a bunch of goblins and orcs who are trying to steal the secret magical ale recipes. Normally the tavern would teleport to new locations but the owner got drunk and let slip the next locations so now you have to protect the tavern.
Would you try it?
Does it at least sound intriguing?
I think it could be really fun.
