I've been dealing with a hyperkinetic gallbladder for the past 2 1/2 years and after trying everything imaginable to treat it without surgery, I'm finally having it removed next week. Thing is, it's voluntary because every test I've taken (and I've taken A LOT) has come back "normal" except the HIDA which showed an ejection fraction of 89%. They marked it as normal as well. I had to do a lot of my own research to learn about hyperkinesia and come to this decision. My surgeon tells me that all my symptoms point to chronic cholecystitis, but I'm terrified I'm making a mistake. It's especially disheartening coming on to this subreddit and seeing so many horror stories. I know they represent only a small fraction of what people experience post-op, but I really don't want to spend the rest of my life regretting my decision. It's a Catch-22.

Obviously just venting here, but I'll check back in once I've had surgery.
