Uber tip capping
Took a run yesterday that, yeah, I know I shouldn’t have taken in the first place, but I figured since it’s 5AM and I’d be home in time to sleep and get another 6 or so hours of drive time in, what the hell? 117 miles for $140. Any other time of day that would’ve been like $75 lol.
Through conversation I discovered she would need an Uber back in a couple of hours. I told her to go ahead and cancel that and I’d wait around and take her back for about $50 less than she would’ve been charged.
My mistake was allowing her to pay for it through the tip feature instead of PP/Venmo/Cash App, etc. Now don’t get me wrong, I knew that Uber capped tips, but one would IMAGINE that a customer could, at the very least, tip the same amount as the ride, itself. You’d be wrong if you thought so, though. That $140 ride’s tip cap was $98!!!
WHAT THE FUCK UBER?! I know you’re a greedy ass company, but I didn’t know you were over zealous and jealous, as well! That’s just insane!
