Almost was attacked in CVS drive thru today because of limiting noise with migraine.
This is my fifth day of headaches third of migraines. I’m not really sure what is happening because I’m in the middle of my Botox cycle. I should be doing well. The weather here has been fluctuating which could be a cause and I did have to go to urgent care today for severe ear pain and was diagnosed with an ear infection. I’m thinking ear pressure could be a part of it.
I went to CVS drive-through to pick up my prescription antibiotic . I did not go inside because I’m having a major light sensitivity issues. I live in a decent town. Nothing crazy should have been going on at CVS at lunchtime. I was second in line. A car pulls up behind me. He waited about two minutes and then begin blaring on the horn like that would’ve sped up the prescription pick up line… since I have a migraine I close my windows and I close my sunroof by reaching and pushing the roof button to minimize noise. One minute later, the crazy man who is blowing his horn get out of his car and walks towards my vehicle. Oh shit! He signals for me to put down my window. I do not want to do this!
I cracked it. He then aggressively asked if I gave him the finger. -Double shit.-
When I have a migraine, I can have a very flat affect when I speak and often a bored sounding monotone that comes out of a white lady. I speak very few words and at a delay. This is not intentional. All I got out was “No, I did not.” He paused looking for more, I was computing to solve this problem and not escalate because he was in a heightened state. His eyes were darting, pacing from foot to foot, etc.
I guess I looked too slow and sad to give the finger? He moved on. He started complaining about the woman in front of me and why was she taking so long and if she was gonna take so long, she should’ve went inside, etc. etc. I think he knew he scared me because he asked me how my Mother’s Day was, whatever then he tried to have a conversation with me until that woman’s car moved on- still in the drive through. He also forced a fist bump. It was too long and too uncomfortable, but I got out of the situation safely.
In the end, me closing my sunroof by pushing the button on my roof, he thought was me giving him the finger, but he was honking the horn and I was trying to minimize sound due to a migraine; another fun adventure.
