8 Years as an Administrative Assistant working on my Medical IT degree and was wondering what career track you would go with for future job outlook?

Hi friends! Quick summary about me:

28 years old - Been an Administrative Assistant for the better part of 8 years, 4 of which being the "Senior". Data and Personal Information Privacy, Data Entry, Phone Calls and millions of emails, etc.

Have been going to college at my local Community College for a year now majoring in CIT, but with the job outlook in IT I am looking for something a little more future-proof. I am not good with bodily fluids, but I really love helping others and my passion is with technology, so I figured a Medical IT Associates degree would be a good start.

The tracks at my college are for Medical Coding, Medical Administrative, and Medical Practice Management.

Not looking to make insane money quickly, just wanting something with a decent future outlook that I can improve upon gradually.

Hello everyone, some background on me:

28 years old, roughly halfway through an Associates in IT with the plans to go for a Bachelors. Live in a pretty rural area in Eastern US.

Have been an Administrative Assistant at a Fulfillment Center/DC for a total of 9 years, 4 of which being at the "Senior Admin Assistant" level. It's not a typical Admin Assistant role, I don't schedule events or book travel, I help employees with fixing there punches throughout the day or if they have a question regarding a workplace policy. I schedule our Incoming deliveries and our Employee Attendance information such as Call-Ins, Bereavement, FMLA, etc. I help HR with Bi-Weekly Payroll.

My true passion does however belong to Technology, which is why I am currently majoring in IT. However, I believe at this point in my life I value the prospect of a more reliable, decent future, than one with a career I genuinely enjoy but contracts and job hopping are part of the culture, which is why I am debating changing my major come this Fall.

I come to you all the ask; what is a good path from where I am now, to a decent future with a career that isn't back breaking, doesn't require constant travel and is not declining to badly. I figured with my current professional background, Supply Chain Management or a general Business degree would be the correct route in moving up in my warehouse, or others nearby.

Or, in your experience, does a degree in IT get the same benefit as a Business degree would when it comes to higher paying warehouse management jobs? These are what I am looking at for the near future.
