So, I completed the Norwegian course
It took me a bit, but I finally completed the Norwegian course in Duolingo! Pretty proud of myself, also because last summer I was actually able to have decent conversation with some locals about e.g. Stortingsvalget 2025 (they were literally campaigning when we were there) and other stuff.
I’m probably not at early B2 level as Duolingo appears to say I should, but definitely at early to high B1 level. I also regularly read Norwegian news (Aftenposten) and watch TV shows and movies with Norwegian subs on (I need the subs because of my hearing loss). My only struggle seems to be in the more complex sentence structuring and some vocabulary as well, but that’s mostly when it comes to writing.
I do sincerely hope Duolingo will ever update this course to at least high B2 level. I already took it a bit on the slow side these past months, focusing on German instead so not to be done with Norwegian too quickly. But at last I felt like I had to complete these last lessons as well, haha.
