I will preface and say I am a new cat owner and grew up around dogs all my life. Never owned a cat in my life before this.

Margalo came into my life in August last year. A young 1-2 year old stray who had given birth to kittens despite being a kitten herself. We don't know her life before that point, but she has always been a very shy cat ever since we brought her home on October 17th.

I say Margalo is "Broken" mostly because I can't figure her out and all my understanding of cat behavior i tried to learn is not getting me anywhere. Margalo has RARELY EVER meowed at me, instead preferring to make little 'mrrt' trills at me constantly. That part I'm not concerned about at all, I know she is a very happy little mama girl who just wants her cheeks massaged. What's weird is when she DOES meow, it's the timing of when she does it and what it sounds like.

First and foremost: Margalo was fixed shortly after we found her, being spayed in early November about a month after adopting her, so I have high doubt she is catcalling the boys. What's weird is, I know cats mainly meow to exclusively humans. However, Margalo never meows when I'm in the room, she will instead go to a different room to meow. It's infrequent and is usually around the time she decides to play, usually before or after zoomies. But what's weird is it's not a typical "mrow" or anything I normally associate with a meow.

She instead squeaks...? im not sure what to describe it as she just makes a breathy "reh". She does it when she's in the other room, but rarely if ever does it to me. The only time she ever does it is SOMETIMES but not all time feeding her. I know cats can be confusing, but im just baffled why she goes to a different room to " meow", but then wander away when I check on her.

Is this a normal behavior? What does a squeaky meow mean? Is it possibly just a habit she had while on the streets? Or am I just overthinking my sweet little baby is just as neurodivergent and socially anxious as I am?

Found cat (?): unknown aged female calico, clipped left ear, distinctive orange spot on shoulders.

I live near West High and, I admit we have a small cat colony in the area. I know we have a black cat with a white spot, long haired tabby cat, and a thin brown tomcat. But this babygirl I've never seen before and she acts TOTALLY DIFFERENT than the other skittish feral cats and im worried she's someone's missing baby.

About a week or so ago, she came uo to me late at night after I got home from work, meowing and rubbing against me. Me and my family assumed she was someone's free-roamer prowling the midnight streets looking for a handout, so i pet her and left her be even after she started meowing at my door.

It's been almost 2 weeks now and she is litterally showing up at my house day and night. She's WAY too friendly to just be written off as a stray, as she actively seeks out humans rather than run away. I'm just worried someone is missing her. I've been leaving out some food for her, and have been calling her Breezie for now, but im worried about taking her inside. I already have a cat (lovely little 2 year old dilute tortishell Margalo), and i don't want to potentially take someone's pet.

If anyone knows whose missing a very vocal but sweet white calico with an orange spot on the shoulder, please LMK!
