Hi all, I’m looking for advice/experiences from anyone who’s dealt with a parcel mix-up on Vinted, especially via InPost.
I bought a bundle of 3 clothing items on Vinted (2 Carhartt tops + a gingham dress). When the parcel arrived, it contained a completely unrelated cheap CKM skirt instead!
The parcel had my correct tracking number on it, but:
* the packaging didn’t match how the seller says they normally package items (it was in an Asda carrier bag and the seller said they always use proper grey parcel bags).
* the seller themselves said the skirt was NOT theirs
* the seller agreed it appeared there had been some sort of InPost/postage mix-up
* I reported the issue to Vinted immediately upon collection
* I provided photos of the incorrect item, packaging and labels
Despite all this, Vinted closed the investigation and rejected my claim due to “insufficient proof”, then completed the transaction and released the seller’s funds!
What’s frustrating is that even the seller seemed genuine and acknowledged something had clearly gone wrong, so this doesn’t even feel like a straightforward scam situation. It genuinely seems like a logistics/courier mix-up.
Has anyone here:
* successfully appealed a Vinted decision like this?
* had any luck escalating to a senior team?
* gone through chargeback/Section 75 afterwards?
* experienced InPost parcel swaps before?
At the moment I’m nearly £30 out of pocket with a random skirt I never ordered, despite paying Buyer Protection, so I’m pretty frustrated with how Vinted handled it(!!!).
Would appreciate any advice or similar experiences.
