We (Me and a member of a mod team) got access to the Reddit API. We had requested access 3+ months ago and the request was accepted 2 months ago and we only saw the acceptance e-mail now. I just wanted to share some positive news with the subreddit and say that there's still some hope for everyone out there.

Before Reddit cracked down on API, I created a script on this account and I have been using my account for some basic automations like removing media posts that the AutoModerator couldn't catch and for removing posts with a certain flairs on certain days. I have also been using it to power a Discord bot to send modmails and posts in our Discord server.

We've got this API access for moderation purposes and it's on a shared account. What moderator tools could we make with this API access? I'm looking forward to some creative replies. Thank you for your help :)

A member in one of our communities is considering suicide and has posted a suicide note. They're not replying to our comments. This is my first time dealing with something like this and I tried reporting their account for self harm here but the page won't get past the loading screen. It's been loading for a few minutes now. We really need some advice from the admins and fellow mods on what we should do. Please advise.

Update 1 - OP has deleted their Reddit account.

Update 2 - We've dealt with it.

Last week, we discontinued the Relationship megathread and announced it in this post. If you don't know what the Relationship megathread was, it was a weekly post where men could comment about themselves and receive DMs for dating purposes. This is the last relationship post for example.

We had closed the weekly megathread because of the fact that the posts received many irrelevant comments and we were not sure whether it was even working or not. It took a lot of man power and efforts to clean the comments every week. So, it was not worth it for us, despite the massive engagement the posts got.

However, soon after closing the weekly megathread, we got many modmails and DMs from men and women alike that they could not find the weekly megathread. Some told us that they wanted it back and many told us that they had found great partners on these posts. Some members even tried to make their own megathreads here.

Now, we have the manpower to mod these posts and know for a fact that the dating megathread works and that people are loving it. So, tune in today at 12 AM, because

We are bringing the Relationship megathread back.

So, this should be independent of all platforms, but, if it matters, I was on the Desktop web, Firefox. I banned a member on our community on 31 March for 7 days. The ban should've been automatically lifted in 7 days, but, it was not. Today (30 April), we got a modmail from them, saying that they have not been unbanned and it's been more than a month. So, our mod team had to manually unban them. Their 7 days ban turned into a 30 day ban, and we have no idea how or why. I checked the logs and they do not reflect any manual extension of ban. I believe that if this bug is not fixed soon, it will cause a tremendous problem for moderators and members alike.

I recently saw a moderator with subreddits well over the mod limit. Yes, I know that it's weekly visitors and not subscribers and many of their subs had weekly visitors in millions. How is it possible since the mod limits say that you can moderate only 1 subreddit with more than a million weekly visitors? Did Reddit not apply the limits yet or did they apply to be an Elder in their subreddits?
