As the title says, I’m talking about Gaurav Kumar, who got AIR 1 in ECE and is reportedly taking admission at IISc Bangalore. Meanwhile, people who have been grinding for 1–2 years are still giving interviews for admission.
He scored around 92 marks in GATE ECE (and the paper was quite tough this year, so that score feels almost unreal).
At first, I felt really proud seeing someone from my college get AIR 1. But when I tried to find more about him (like why there’s barely any online presence), I couldn’t find much. Later, I came across claims that he’s from Samastipur, Bihar, and that he might have paid a large amount to cheat in the exam.
I’m currently in my third year, and honestly, hearing all this has been pretty demotivating.
Not sure what to believe anymore—has anyone else heard anything about this?
