As the title says ive git a kinda weird question and i dont know if it fits in this thread.

As i am a huge Lord of the Rings Fan and most weapons and armors are , not historically accurate tho (maybe inspired by real armor) , somewhat legit armors and should have protective value.

My main question tho is at a picture ive got feom gimlis armor , especially the mail.

How would you guys rate the protective and logistical value ( as per repair , cost, complexity to craft etc) on gimlis mail shirt?

They are washer style steel rings interlinked with normal steel wire links.
