I have the original Gen 1 round dish (Dishy) and want to get a wired ethernet output from the router to connect to a TP-Link CPE210 bridge unit for a farm-wide WiFi network.
The Gen 1 V1 ethernet adapter seems to be discontinued and impossible to find. However Gen 2 SPX-to-RJ45 adapters are widely available on Amazon.
I've read that one hardware engineer successfully used the same RJ45 rework procedure on both Gen 1 and Gen 2, which suggests the SPX connector may be physically the same across both generations — but I can't confirm this before buying.
Has anyone successfully used a Gen 2 SPX-to-RJ45 adapter with a Gen 1 round dish router? Or are the connectors different sizes/shapes and it simply won't fit?
Not looking to upgrade to Gen 3 — just want a wired ethernet port out of my existing setup. Any advice appreciated.
