I made a (hopefully) actually good events + food/drink specials app for SB. Feedback appreciated!
I made this because Los Altos closed. I swear my work was propping their business up, but damn they had amazing and affordable lunch specials 5 days a week. still nobody knew about it and they had to shut their Milpas location.
It sort of spiraled into a bit of an everything app, I was realizing people as me all the time what going on I’m SB today and I don’t know what to say, or there is a show from a band I love and I don’t hear about it because I’m not scrolling IG that week.
Anyways, the premise is that everything is supposed to be user submitted. I’ve set it up with a few scrapers pulling from SoHo, some bars and restaurant, but I can’t run those forever, so please submit stuff!
I’m a SB local and I hope this can be something locals actually use to help support local businesses, find out about more places to hang out, and maybe even save some money! I’m sure there’s plenty of bugs, so please comment anything you find! there’s some cool features, like you can scan a chalkboard with events and it will auto pull the details to the feed.
