Hey all, I’m facing a difficult career decision and would appreciate some outside perspective.

I’m 26 and have a background in Management studies, along with internship and Werkstudent experience in Project and Product Management during my studies in Germany. Since graduating, I’ve been in the job search phase for about a year.

Right now, I’ve been offered a full-time role as a Shift Leader at a fast food franchise. I’m genuinely unsure whether I should take it.

Part of me worries that it could look like a downgrade compared to my studies and previous experience. I’m also wondering how future recruiters in Germany might view it.

At the same time, I can also see some positives:
- earning an income instead of remaining unemployed
- improving my German through daily interaction
- gaining hands-on experience in operations and people management

My current thinking is that I could take the role for now, continue applying for jobs in my field, and later decide whether or not to include it on my CV depending on relevance.
(I can skip mentioning it in my CV, right?)

Because realistically, if I don’t take it, the alternative is still a long job-search gap on my CV.

Has anyone here been in a similar situation? How are such roles generally viewed by recruiters in Germany?

Any honest advice or perspective would really help. Thanks!
