Hello everyone!
I'm a French student in a hospitality & restaurant management MBA program, and we're currently working on a business development project for a French brand called Necense. They make premium artisanal soft drink concentrates (cola, tonic, lemonade, ginger beer, iced tea…) from natural and organic ingredients. The idea is that you, restaurants and bars prepare the drinks fresh on-site instead of serving industrial sodas.
We're studying the potential for expanding to the benelux and scandinavia (we do not choose it). I'd really appreciate some local perspective on a few things:
How do you guys feel about soft drinks ( Your house/restaurants/bars)? Do you care about what's in them, or is a Coca-Cola just fine?
Is there a growing interest in the Netherlands for organic, low-sugar, or artisanal beverages? (i find only one study about it :/)
Are Dutch consumers generally willing to pay a premium for a higher-quality, locally-made soft drink at a restaurant?
Any idea how strict the regulations are for importing food/beverage products from the EU into the Netherlands?
Since we don't speak Dutch, the sources we find come from small outlets and are unreliable... 😢
Also, if any of you know where I could find official sources, market studies, or public reports on the Dutch beverage market or consumer trends (from official source or study), that would be incredibly valuable. We need solid data to back up our analysis and I'm having a hard time finding Dutch specific studies from France.
Any input, even just your personal habits or opinions, would be super helpful for our research. This is a school project, so we're genuinely just trying to learn and understand your market better.
Dank je wel!
