My office PC - A couple of questions
Hello everyone.
At my office, I use my old PC, which has a Intel i5 3550, a Nvidia GTX 970, 16 GB of DDR3, on a gigabyte B75M D3H mobo.
This pc I believe is from 2012 or 2013. The GPU 2015 I believe.
Hardware wise, should I be good or should I expect some compatibility issues?
I bought an extra SSD and wanted to give linux mint a try there. I currently use Windows 11 on on SSD.
What I'm gonna do is to unplug the SATA from my Windows SSD, plug ony my new SSD and install Linux Mint.
Then I would switch between OS using the BOOT MENU, of the MOBO.
I'd like to keep both systems completely separated.
This would be my first try on dual OS, and first try on linux on a desktop PC.
Anything else I should be aware of or does this sound about right?
