Hi, I’m an incoming freshman at Columbia and I’m really interested in gaining a global academic experience during the summer after my freshman year (Summer 2027). I was wondering how competitive these Columbia-led summer programs are for first-year students.

Are freshmen commonly accepted into programs like the Paris programs, and what makes an application stand out? I’d also love to know if there are certain programs that are more accessible or recommended for students hoping to get involved early in their college experience.
