Best way to start producing?
I downloaded OpenUtau about a week ago, and I'm completely stalled/stumped/stuck/other words starting with st. While I have some limited experience with DAWs, I'm super confused about basically everything beyond placing notes. I can't seem to find any good guides for beginners, a lot of them use the jargon without explaining what any of the terms mean (if anyone can point me to an absolute noob's guide that'd be great). I've heard that Vocaloid is easier to use, and I only went with OpenUtau because it's free. Should I just bite the bullet and get a Vocaloid voicebank with the lite version of the software?
edit: u/MangoPug15 suggested that I ask about specific jargon that confuses me, so here's a list:
resampler, wavtool, parsing, arpasing, phonemizer, VCCV/VCV/CV (I know what these stand for but not how they apply practically to lyrical input), flags, envelopes
and: is there a difference between expressions and tuning?
