I updated my clipboard app with Smart Paste v2 after Reddit feedback

A few weeks ago, I posted Pasly here — a small macOS clipboard app I built because I kept losing things I copied.

The feedback was way better than I expected, and I’ve been improving it since then.

Problem

Copy/paste still has a small but annoying problem:

You copy something…

Then copy something else…

Then realize you needed the previous thing.

Or you press Cmd+V and paste the wrong item.

Most clipboard managers solve this with history, but I wanted the paste flow itself to feel faster.

Update

The new version focuses mostly on Smart Paste.

Smart Paste v2:

  • opens instantly when you press Cmd+V
  • lets you pick the right clipboard item before pasting
  • supports Live Replace for Pro users: paste normally, then choose another item to replace it
  • improves support for alternate keyboard layouts, including Dvorak

I also improved:

  • Field Sense — the feature that shows Pasly when you focus an input
  • history cleanup, with clearer delete options
  • update dialogs and changelog layout
  • small visual polish across the app

The goal is still the same:

make copy → search → paste feel fast, simple, and low-friction.

What’s next

I’m working on more improvements for:

  • Smart Paste
  • Field Sense
  • better app behavior/control
  • Mac-to-Mac sync/integration

I’m trying to keep Pasly focused on clipboard workflows, not turn it into a bloated productivity suite.

Pasly is available both outside the Mac App Store and on the App Store, but some features may differ because of App Store sandbox restrictions.

Field Sense is still improving with feedback.
