Hello everyone!
I'm relatively new to town and finally managed to get an appointment with a family doctor. I was referred for a 24-hour blood pressure test (ABPM), and the clinic is charging $150 out-of-pocket (though it might be partially covered by private insurance). I found out LifeLabs only charges $88, but when I asked my doctor if I could go elsewhere he just said "no" and wouldn't say why.
Since this is my first time doing any referral procedures, I’m not sure if it's normal for a doctor to refuse a different lab like this. Are they somehow connected and do I actually have to go to the pricey one?
Thank you!
