I've been working with ccru related occult practices for a while and Ive had many interesting experiences doing so. I was skeptical at first and only did everything more or less just to occupy my time, but it seems like there is definitely something more to that organization than just having been a weird philosophy group. I don't think the occult parts were metaphorical at all. They are genuine attempts at a hyperstitional occult system (if the idea of being genuine or disingenuous has any meaning when applied to something like hyperstition at least). I've had a good deal of experience working with the numogram and numogram demons in particular. At least some of them seem very happy (if human emotion can describe them) to work with people. Those I've worked with seem capable of causing very tangible effects too. One thing that shocked me was the day after building an altar to Katak I found a red and blue crystal in my house which I've never seen before.
