My female 3-4 year old leopard gecko has been sick for almost 2 weeks now. It all started with an excessive amount of shedding. I’ve had her for about 1 year now and she’s always shed a lot but over the past 1.5 months it’s been every two weeks. She won’t eat when she sheds but due to the excessive shedding she lost a lot of weight. On the last shed she had a piece stuck of her anus which caused her to become blocked up.

After discovering that I talked to my veterinarian who suggested an enema and force feeding critical care food. I’ve been force feeding once daily along with a 20 minute warm water soak. She’s gotten 2 enemas both times she basically delivered a large piece of stool. The second time specifically the stool had a partial mucous membrane which the vet said it suggested it had been in there a long time. That was 3 nights ago. She still isn’t eating and looks worse energy wise.

Tonight I decided to go full hospital mode and disinfected her enclosure threw out all substrate. Tank is now lined with paper towels.

Living conditions info: 36x18x18 glass tank, substrate/ play sand bedding in a 3:1 ratio, humidity kept at 40%, temperature 96 at peak, 88 at lowest. Diet is primarily gut loaded meal worms and wax worms as treats dusted in calcium alternating with and without d3
