Yesterday got voice limit reached after 40 minutes. Today voice limit reached after 10 minutes, are you kidding me? Xai is really the shittiest service by far ...

Well, I gotta hand it to xAI for reaching new lows every day. At this pace, they’ll end up burning most of their regular users, and they don’t seem to care less since they’ve secured contracts with the US government and Anthropic.

Some people have been saying they’re pretty much dismantling the consumer side of the operation. After the aggressive cuts to voice chat limits, I’m starting to believe it so. The quality keeps dropping, and today hitting the voice limit after just 10 minutes as a SuperGrok user made me just laugh out loud. It really highlights how tone-deaf and tyrannical the company is.

They can basically serve us garbage and not bother explaining or fixing it. It seems like the company is testing how much they can get away with before pushing regular users away entirely. It’s almost as if they’re deliberately dismaying us so we cancel and leave, freeing up compute by renting it to Anthropic or whoever else.

Well done sirs! That’s certainly one way to kill off your regular user base.

I started a new conversation about 20 minutes ago. After roughly 40 minutes of use, the app suddenly stopped and showed the message “Voice limit was reached,” telling me to try again later or upgrade to Heavy.

When I asked why this happened, Grok told me it was a “new change” xAI had to make because too many people were using the servers (as if that’s believable given the heavy censorship and already very low generation limits). Apparently xAI had to lower the limits “temporarily” while they activate new servers. It didn’t hesitate, however, to suggest I get Grok Heavy. It also added that this is a new daily limit of 40–45 minutes for voice chat.

So another new low from xAI, just adding to the already poor experience they’re offering paying users. I wonder what other limits are coming next… just great!
