I've been wondering about this lately. It sometimes feels like romantasy authors create their main character as a version of themselves or as the absolute best version of themselves living in the fantasy world they've designed.

How common do you think this actually is? Have you noticed it in the books you've read? And what are your thoughts on it overall?

Tho Xaden {Fourth Wing} is not my cup of tea, I’d see him with Jude {The Cruel Prince}. She would put him in place real quick lol.

I find so many name unpronounceable or just simply so weird that takes me out of the story.

For example, I really like Aelin, but when I see her full name I cringe..
