Hey.

Sorry for whats probably a bunch of obvious questions to anyone that has experience buying or building.

We are looking at buying a large block, 1-4ha. We need a 4-5 bedroom home and a 2nd dwelling.

I have found plenty of blocks available on the mornington peninsula that have and existing 2-3 bedroom home and was wondering if we could buy a block then build a new larger home and keep the old smaller home as a 2nd dwelling?

Would we have to demolish the existing then build a 60m2 "small 2nd dwelling"?

Who would i speak to for clarification before putting in an offer on a block?

We could look for an existing block with 2 homes already on it. There are some but obviously much more limited selection.
