In any discussion involving MHA characters versus bullets and blades, people will inevitably bring up the fact that Deku got stabbed by Toga, therefore everyone in the verse clearly has terrible piercing durability, and Prime Allmight would die to a common crackhead.

Of course there are basic issues with this logic, such as the fact that Toga is clearly superhuman, and the version of Deku she fought is nowhere near his peak, but most importantly… the feat never happened. This feat, which is inescapable in MHA powerscaling, quite literally never occurs.

This “fight” starts in chapter 347, in which Toga flings herself at Deku. Deku responds by guarding with the back of his hand. The blade leaves a small mark on his support gear. Continuing on, in the next chapter, Toga attacks Deku with her blade tentacle. Deku easily deflects all of her attacks, Ochako tackles Toga, and the two never interact again.

Note how the only thing Toga ever manages is to leave what is essentially a papercut, not actually on Deku, but on his support gear. The same support gear that literally dissolves like paper in water whenever Deku prepares for a full strength attack. Also note how not once does Deku use any power besides base OFA against her. People would have you believe that Deku is knife level, so logically, Deku would’ve used his defense quirk, Blackwhip, right? Nope. It’s almost like he didn’t feel the need to because she couldn’t actually stab him…

Deku also has genuinely good feats of resisting piercing sttacks. He punched clean through rivet stab ( emphasis on the stab), and when Shigaraki chomped down on his arm, Shigaraki’s jaw got horrifically mutilated, and Deku’s arm was fine. Your canines obviously aren’t as sharp as a sword, but they are literally designed to stab things, and Shigaraki was biting down with All Might levels of strength.

It doesn’t even make sense narratively, AFO has a variety of quirks that stab and shoot blades, this narrative genuinely requires you to believe that AFO could’ve one shot his mortal nemesis any time he wanted but decided not to out of the kindness of his heart. The only reason this laughably dumb idea has spread so far is because 90% of people who participate in this sub haven’t actually read MHA.
