Hello! I'm just wondering if anyone has a similar experience to me. I am currently doing my first year MSW placement at a home health care agency for older adults. I am currently doing my placement with the social work department where I do home visits, care navigation ie connecting clients to different resources, short-term counselling, etc.

I told my practicum planner that for my second year placement, I'd be willing to do my placement again with older adults or specifically hospice and bereavement. My practicum planner said the same agency I am doing my placement at has a hospice and bereavement department and they are looking for students for the fall. I told my practicum I'm somewhat interested but that I also want to experience my second placement at a different agency. My practicum planner is pushing me to an interview at the same agency's hospice department but I don't know. Are there any cons to doing my placement at the same agency, even though it'll be with a different department?

Doing both placements at the same agency?

I am currently a masters of social work student. Today one of the social workers offered me to co-facilitate a caregiver support group that focuses on mental health and well-being. I told her I'd think about it. When I looked at the participants, I noticed that I know two of the participants in the group. Both are friends with my mother.

I don't really feel comfortable facilitating this group considering there's only 14 participants and I personally know 2 of them. Am I overreacting? Does it matter that I know them?
