my betta had had fun rot on and off since putting him in his new tank.

my betta fish is 4-5 years old. i got him from our local fish store. he is a veil tail. he originally was in a 10 gallon with some khulis and cory’s, but i felt bad for them so i moved them to a 20 gal long tank to better suit their needs. the tank is fully planted, and completely self sustaining as far as cleaning goes, though i do have filters running 24/7, and heating.

he’s getting old and is going blind, i have to give him assistance when feeling him. ever since i changed his tank, he has gotten fin rot and i feel like right when it’s going away, it comes right back. tannins seem to help it a lot, medication makes it worse (i use paraguard).

if anyone has recommendations or knows any good shops or brands to buy tannins from, please let me know. i have tried putting him back in a smaller tank but he gets freaked out. i’m also about to add a back pothos plant into my tank and im hoping it’ll give him another place to rest on.

any advice is appreciated, this is my first time dealing with fin rot. i also want to say that none of my other fish are showing signs of being sick and everyone in the tank is thriving outside of fintys (my betta) fin problems.

wanting to set up another tank but i’m going smaller. i was hoping to find a tank with the filter and heater already built in but so far don’t have any luck.

does anyone know any good tanks like this?

I’m 18, and i talked to a local Marine recruiter today. by no means am i 1000% going to go through with this yet, but i would like to learn more. I have trained dogs since i was 15. If i were to go into any branch, this is something id want to do.

does anybody have any good sources where i may be able to learn more? i’m interested in how the K-9 unit runs, what specific trainings you’ll have to go to, ETC.

this toppled with the several other benefits of the military seems undeniably worth it. i just need to know more about it.
