Ok so!
This is a book I read as a child, but I'm not sure whether it was a children's book, or more YA leaning. It didn't have any sort of romance or teen themes that I remember, in fact I remember very little.
The cover was almost all black and white, and I seem to remember it having a rather "dracula" style, traditional classic depiction of a vampire/castle on the front.
there was some sort of a magical element, maybe a magical necklace? That made the main character able to fly, and she didn't exactly understand that these were vampire powers at first. I believe it was a "she" as the MC but I could be wrong on this too. It was almost as if she thought she was dreaming in the night, but she actually went flying on these adventures.
There was also some sort of gargoyle-esque stone statue involved that played a plot development role but for the life of me I couldn't tell you what it did, other than sit in a courtyard and be a focal point to the story. Maybe it opened to reveal something?
Again it's been over 20 years since I've read this book and I don't have a lot to go on. Anything helps, thanks,
