I dislike my cabinet.
Open to suggestions!
During the pandemic, I bought an IKEA Fabrikör cabinet. I kept it pretty basic—removed the glass shelves and added corner shelves—but now it feels bland and a bit inefficient. There’s a lot of unused space (especially without a metal back for hanging containers), and right now it’s mostly filled with propagations.
I’m thinking about adding one glass shelf back in and placing a fan on each level, but I’m struggling with how to arrange the fans and hide/manage all the cords. If you’ve done this, I’d love to hear what worked for you.
For Mother’s Day, I got a second cabinet and want to do something more creative with it—a moss wall using plastic netting and sphagnum. My question is how to set up the bottom:
Should I use long/rectangular planters and train climbing plants upward?
Or just place potted plants and let them grow into the wall?
I also have a lot of plants around the house I can move in, but I’m unsure how to best use the space overall. Would you:
Add moss panels to the sides too?
Mix mounted plants with potted ones?
For the moss wall, I’m planning to use Monstera siltepecana, Silver Sword philodendron, and Monstera adanonsii.
Any layout ideas, examples, or tips (especially for airflow and cord management) would be super helpful!
