Hello everyone! I'm writing this because I've been thinking for a while now that I would like to try being vegetarian, partly to gain more healthy eating habits and be more familiar with the food I consume, mainly for moral and environmental reasons.
I do however seem to struggle with this, as I am quite a picky eater, I'm a student with not much cooking experience (yet), easily overwhelmed by possible food choices (Perhaps in character for my ADHD) and I have a severe nut allergy. Eating meat always seems like an ''easy and convenient choice''. Even so, I do notice that I feel more at ease when eating items that do not contain meat or collagen. It seems the moral and environmental reasoning may play a role here.
I would like to ask: Are there any useful tips you may have for when you started out? Could it be smart to try out pescetarianism as I'm very sensitive to low iron levels? Does anyone have any ADHD foolproof tips for snack or dinner ideas (I'm really digging cruesli bars at the moment, but 9/10 a flavor contains nuts 😞).
I would love to hear from people if they have any tips or tricks to make it manageable. I know every change in life(style) requires some sort of effort, which I'm fully prepared to put in. But given my current circumstances, I thought that it wouldn't hurt to try and receive some feedback.
