Multiple vertical cracks

Multiple vertical cracks

Hello! My wife and I toured a beautiful home built in 2016 today. Was within our budget, and we both liked it. Something I didn’t like were the multiple vertical cracks in the foundation. I’ve included a picture as to what they looked like, and I’ve seen poured walls, they all have 1 or 2 of these. This one however, had 6 by my quick count, may have been more. No bulging in the walls, no cracking on the drywall upstairs, etc. floors were all even. All of them were located within the joint. I don’t want to buy a future money pit, would you avoid a house with that many cracks?

Hello! My wife and I are going to be building a house in the coming month or so. We’re essentially doing a house we walked through, nice home with a partially finished basement. I’ve always wanted one, and it adds about 850 sq feet with another bedroom. I’ve always been hesitant about finishing a basement due to the obvious potential water issues. I’m going to make sure the home is built up high, and the grading is great throughout the whole yard. Other than the interior/exterior drain tile with sump, and Water membrane on the outside of the poured wall, is there anything else we should do, or should we just avoid it all together?
