How to set username upon account creation

I tried to create a new account so I could set my username but when I used Google to create account it set a name for me and never gave me the option to create my own. How can I sign up and set the username? I only have one other email so this is my only chance to do it properly.

[Android app] force logged out of account and now can't post

I was on my main account reading the replies on a post I made and all of a sudden I was logged out. I logged back in no problem but now I can't post or see my notifications. I don't see any notification or email informing of action against account so i'm not sure what's going on. Added screenshot from main account of error code. I dont know my app version, how do I check?
