This is what 3mm of hardened steel is built for — taking brutal impacts in full-contact buhurt while keeping the fighter protected. Quality armor matters, especially in full armor combat where every hit counts.
⚜️
That’s exactly why investing in reliable, well-made equipment is worth it.

BambuLab X2D my new miniature printing workhorse

I print and paint a huge amount of miniatures for our D&D campaigns, monsters, enemies, NPCs, terrain pieces, and pretty much everything we need. And i finally switched from the A1 Mini to the X2D, and i have to say the whole process has become easier and more enjoyable than ever.

Most of my miniatures start as hand-drawn sketches that I make with pens and markers. From there, I use a mix of MakerWorld’s Image-to-3D feature and some very basic 3D modeling to clean up errors and make the models printable.

So far, I absolutely love the X2D. The print quality is incredibly clean, even using the standard 0.4 mm nozzle. For these prints I tried a 0.06 mm layer height, and the level of detail is amazing while the print times are still surprisingly fast.

These five goblins were printed for our latest adventure.

For printing, I simply used the automatic support generation and hit print — and it worked flawlessly. The amount of supports the printer generated was insane, and removing them definitely took some patience with a sharp hobby knife, tweezers, and a bit of superglue afterward, but overall the process went far smoother than I expected.

For me personally, I’m a big fan of FDM miniatures after constantly running into issues with resin printing. And for miniatures that are actually meant to be handled and played with a lot, they still look fantastic on the table.

Next, I want to try printing a much larger monster and experiment with the secondary nozzle using PVA supports for easier cleanup.

If you want to print them yourself i have uploaded them to maker World here:
